The stories The Rubaiyat and the Gulistan have taught me that the Persians had a very deep feeling for life lessons. In both their stories there are life lessons to be learned and they believe in those lessons. The Persians believed in the Qur'an and in Allah and were afraid to anger him. Their goal was to always please Allah and to live by him.
"Whether the Naishapur or Babylon,
Whether the Cup with sweet or bitter run,
The Wine of Life keeps oozing drop by drop,
The Leaves of Life keep falling one by one."
-The Rubaiyat
