Gligamesh vs the Flood

The Epic of Gilgamesh and the flood that is referred to in the Bible are similar but written at different times. Surprisingly Gilgamesh was written before the Bible but they are both told a little differently. Looking back at different cultures there are certain stories that are similar to our own history just altered to fit their own beliefs. Gilgamesh was written to fit their own beliefs of having many gods. The story of Noah could be talking about the same flood but it was also altered to fit the christian belief. Everything is slightly changed when passed down to make it lean in the tellers favor, it would have not made sense for the Greeks or Romans to tell this story about one god but believe in many. Telling the flood with many gods participating in it would not have made any sense to the Christians who believe in only one all powerful god. Instead of disproving their beliefs they altered the story to fit what they believe.
